I am sitting here at work running all of the necessary tasks to close out the day. We have mopped the floors, cleaned our desks, closed out the credit card machines, printed our reports. But today isn’t just a regular Saturday, it’s the end of the year. It’s the last day of 2016.
I am not sure how you guys felt about 2016, but I am really ready to leave it behind. I have never so much looked forward to a New Year, to make resolutions for the coming year and mean it. When I was a kid, it was just one of those special nights of the year that I could stay up late with my parents and drink sparkling grape juice (which, to be honest, is what I’ll be having tonight). I made silly resolutions that I didn’t keep for more than a month, and the only thing I had to worry about the new year was getting the right date written on papers.
But this year was a full and crazy one for me. I am grateful for a few things that came out of it, mostly my son. But 2017 will hopefully be a better year.
With that, good bye, work! I will see you next year!
